Best College Football Stats and Trends Week 3

College Football Stats and Trends Betting Odds

Conference play is beginning to pick up as the college football schedule enters Week 3. Perhaps now, after two weeks of heavy betting, you have a good grasp on who’s for real and who’s a pretender. We have seen a lot of impressive performances from the expected teams in the Top 25 (Alabama) and we have also seen some surprise teams that perhaps you have capitalized on early to increase your bankroll (Arizona State). Lastly, staying in the same area, we have seen some teams that have completely underperformed in the first two weeks (Arizona).

Week 1 of the college football season saw the OVER hit in 63.8 percent of games that had totals. Perhaps it was slow defenses, excited offenses or sportsbooks didn’t have a good feel and had the totals set too low. Well, the books bounced back in Week 2 as the UNDER hit in 63.3 percent of games for a total of 18-31 and it is an even split 48-48 for the OVER/UNDER on the season.

Meanwhile, dog bettors take notice that the favorites and double-digit favorites are both covering at just 50.9 percent. Last week the favorites were dead even at 38-38-1, while you could have cashed on the double-digit favorites as they went 52.9 percent on 27-24-1.

As we do each and every Thursday, we have the most interesting trends and stats for the top games of the week in the college football schedule. This week, and moving forward, I also will be providing my favorite picks based on the data below.
